The jury results are in. Announcing the Official selections to the 2011 Short Film Program. Please join us on October 15th at Imperial Theatre as we celebrate their work and announce the award-winners. Congratulations to all the filmmakers that were chosen. We want to sincerely express our gratitude to all the filmmakers that sent in their submissions.

1. Bonds

Synopsis: The world is suffering from violence in various forms – wars, drugs, fear, prejudice, and environmental pollution... Exposure to mental and physical threats is becoming part of everyday life. To what extent can the bonds of friendship and family help to combat these problems?

2. Monster and Dumpling

Synopsis: Once up on a time, there was an ugly and violent monster. Because he was ugly, everybody disliked him. One day, the monster came to the small town to get some food and found a small girl. The monster tried to eat her, but something happened to him and changed him.

Synopsis: Truman Klaver is an eight-year-old boy living with Asperger syndrome. Knowing this from a young age, the mature Truman accepts his disability, but still encounters problems in his everyday life. Truman and his loving family take us through the everyday routine of living with someone with Asperger Syndrome.

14. Dead Symphony

Synopsis: Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky died 9 days after the premier of his Sixth Symphony 'Pathétique' under mysterious circumstances. Since then, a string of unfortunate deaths associated with the piece have led some to believe that Tchaikovsky's final masterpiece seals the fate of those who study it.

Synopsis: Multiracial Roger (David Yee) doesn't know who he is, and so hires a suspicious Indo-Canadian (Jazz Mann) to teach him to become a 'desi' in one day. But is it that easy to step into someone else's skin?

Synopsis: The final goodbye to a family cottage sold in the spring of 2011.

21. MOVE

Directed by: John Graham

Drama, 7:48

Synopsis: "Move" depicts the surreal dream life of a young comatose man, and how it attempts to guide him to consciousness. Although he seems to be disconnected from life, his interior self echoes symbols of caring from the outer conscious world. Even after awakening, his unfathomable imagination presents more ambiguity.
