Short Film Competition 2011 Results

On October 15, 2011 the audience was treated to an incredible line up of short films screened at Imperial Theatre in downtown Barrie. The Short Film Showcase presented a juried selection of films submitted by regional, national and international filmmakers. All the films screened were eligible for the Bandito Video People's Choice Award voted by the audience at the end of the screening. The line up contained a diverse selection of short films from Simcoe County, GTA, U.S. and Europe. Thank you to all those who entered their work. Here are the 2011 Short Film Competition Results:

Open Category

First Prize – "Las piedras no aburren" - Directed by: Marta Parreno

Second Prize – "Jesusito de mi vida" - Directed by: Jesùs Pérez-Miranda 

Third Prize – "I Want to be a Desi" - Directed by: Allan Tong


Simcoe County Category

First Prize – "Jim Talks" - Directed by: Jackson Fishauf
Second Prize – "Joe's Cowboy Boots" - Directed by: Mickey Cardoni & Ionas von Zezschwitz

Third Prize – "Annuit Coeptis" - Directed by: Alex Broughton


High School Category

First Prize – "Art of Breaking" - Directed by: Jesse Betten Court & Ben Borg
Second Prize – "Another Night" - Directed by: Sherry Simons

Third Prize – "Slug Gargantuwon" - Directed by: Wendel Brooks
