Now, if you ask anyone who’s ever attended the BFF After Party, they will tell you that it’s an absolute must... and this year promises to be no exception. The music, the laughter, the food, the buzz – The After Party is an evening for film buffs and friends alike to mingle, have fun and compare notes about the films they’ve seen or plan to see.
Get caught up in listening to the soulful tunes of the Michelle Willis Group. Sample the delicious delicacies catered by this year’s Festival host restaurants: Cravings, Johnny’s Fresh Fish & Seafood Market, Michael & Marion’s and Oscars.
Make sure that your Festival experience includes this friendly and festive social event which gets started right after the Friday night screening of the sure-to-be-fun Canadian film SCORE: A HOCKEY MUSICAL. Already generating a lot of excitement, this film is a cheeky tribute to our national obsessive love of the game. We’re Canadian - let’s celebrate it!

Since its inception, the Michelle Willis Group has been taking cues from artists across the board, from Joni Mitchell, Carole King, and Aretha Franklin, to Erykah Badu, the Beatles, and Ben Folds. Always dedicated to the craft of songwriting, and playing original, soulful and communicative music, they feel their sound is best described as an intricate and lyrical fusion of jazz, folk, pop and R&B. Most recently, you can hear the group getting airtime on CBC Radio One and at Toronto’s local jazz watering-hole, The Rex Hotel. The group includes Michelle Willis (Piano/Vocal), Heather Crawford (Guitar), Charles James (Bass), Shawn Rompre (Drums).
